In the small town of Bastia Umbra, in the province of Perugia, the architect Cannavicci has completely renovated a penthouse of 200 square metres located in a period building. The design intent was to create open environments, fluid paths and to ensure adequate circulation of light and air.

The floorplan develops in a horseshoe shape around the central nucleus with the entrance and the turret, the only area without pitched ceilings. From the kitchen, located inside the tower, through two large windows one can enjoy the view of the historic part of the city and the Umbrian hills. From the studio there is direct access to the large terrace, an ideal place to live en plen air and relax in the open air, without leaving home. In the attic, the furniture follows the inclination of the pitches by fully exploiting every space and height available.

PRODUCT USED

For the kitchen and bathroom floor, the large ultra-thin ceramic slabs in KERLITE 3plus from the Custom-Made collection were chosen. The collection reproduces in porcelain stoneware the natural charm of Burgundy stone, historically very successful. The designer selected light finishes that enhance the natural brightness of the attic space, using the slabs in the large 100x300 cm format, reinforced with fibreglass on the back, always planar, resistant and antibacterial thanks to PROTECT® technology.

For the flooring of the large terrace, a view enhanced by refined furnishings, 14 mm thick Custom-Made porcelain stoneware tiles were chosen, inspired by rolled cement, with materials and colours perfectly in tune with the trends of contemporary architecture. In addition to the extraordinary aesthetic and technical performance of porcelain stoneware, it is a safe choice thanks to the exclusive Protect® technology, which guarantees powerful antibacterial protection, active 24 hours a day, permanently integrated into the product.
