Built in 1902 as a master’s residence and characterised by neoclassical elements, Casa De Bernardi is a jewel of the Liberty style in Turin. The recent renovation project enhanced the building and modified its intended use to create office spaces, preserving, however, the existing structure and the valuable architectural elements.
“Our choice,” stated the designer, “was to find an interpretation that would neutrally, discreetly, and excitingly enhance the building itself. This is why an important role was given to the flooring, which is unique on each floor of the villa and is in colour tones that are in keeping with those of the rest of the building.”The designers chose Kerlite 3plus OVER, Loft in the 100x100cm format for the flooring in the offices and corridors due to its heightened technical characteristics in terms of durability, maintenance and cleaning.
“We were looking for a material,” continued the designer, “that could guarantee these features while being ultra-thin and easy to handle during the renovation phase, in which it is necessary to make cuts on site. Kerlite by Cotto d’Este was the material that was most suited to this kind of work, while also maintaining characteristics of strength and durability.”
