In Rheine, in the heart of the German countryside, a contemporary residence designed by Engelshove Bau-GmbH interprets living as an experience of continuity between architecture, light and landscape. Essential volumes, expansive glazed surfaces and a measured material palette define an elegant, timeless project in constant dialogue with its surroundings.

The project unfolds through a unified design vision, in which the interior spaces open naturally towards the outside and every element helps create an atmosphere of balance and harmony. Natural light flows through the rooms, amplifying their sense of space and enhancing the materials, proportions and architectural details.

PRODUCT USED

Cotto d'Este surfaces accompany the entire project, helping to create a visual and material continuity that runs through every area of the residence.

Used on the ground floor, in the bathrooms and in the outdoor areas, the refined ceramic slabs are an expression of the signature 14MM technology, exclusive to Cotto d'Este. The increased thickness ensures a unique balance of strength, beauty and durability, delivering high technical performance alongside an aesthetic quality built to last.

The surface's warm, natural tones engage with the house's contemporary architecture and the surrounding landscape, reinforcing the connection between indoors and outdoors. The continuous flooring guides the eye beyond the building's boundaries, amplifying the perception of space and contributing to a cohesive reading of the project.

In certain design details, the large ultra-thin KERLITE slabs further extend the residence's material language, confirming the ability of Cotto d'Este surfaces to adapt to different applications while maintaining aesthetic consistency and expressive quality.

The result is an essential, refined architecture in which the ceramic material becomes an integral part of the design, connecting spaces, functions and landscape into a single, contemporary living experience.
